Comments bring traffic?

Do you believe that by leaving comments on others’ blog bring more traffic to you? Caroline Middlebrook proofs this theory. She manages to increase her traffic from 3000 in September to 11,000 in October.

Caroline Middlebrook did a lot of wors in order to increase her traffic( including commenting and StumbleUpon). Although StumbleUpon bring her more traffic compare to commenting, but what i want to say is, a lot of websites send her links too. And those visitors actually view her site after reading her comments.

Why comments can bring traffic? It won’t bring you traffic if you simply spam other people blogs with meaningless comments. You should join the conversations on that topic, and add your own opinions. When other users read the comments, they may click your name if they found your comments is meaningful.

For me, before i post a comment, i will go through all previous comments. After i post my comment, i will browse the commenter’s website if i found his/her comment make sense.

Remember, don’t add your website/blog link in your comment. People will think that you simply spam on that article. Read through all the comments, then write what you think. Those comments may bring traffics to you, although not immediately.

Another good example is Ahtim.com. He had shown that his efforts on commenting bring more traffic and increasing of Alexa ranking. I actually try to leave my comments on some friends’ blog too and those comments really bring some traffics to me. So, why not try this on my blog and see if any visitors visit your website through my blog?

    1. You have nice blog design. Thanks for mentioned my blog :)

      –blog for dream–

    2. Now I know the reason why I have low traffic in one reason because I don’t always leave comments after reading other bloggers’ articles.I think I will do what you said to promote my blog.BTW,thanks for your visit of my blog too. :)

    3. Actually, I did already know this. I’d bet that anyone who leaves insightful comments regularly would see the same thing, as I do, regularly. I’ve had days where 5% of my traffic was from comments that I’ve left over the Web, old ones and new.

    4. Yea, comment do bring traffic but most blog using wordpress will have the nofollow tag which does not contribute to inbound link. Better still is to optimise your blog for search engine. :)
